4 Deliveries made. Some software changes

Hi All

There are now a modest 4 SynthiMuses out in the wild!

Customers have been mostly positive in their comments but they’ve asked for a couple of additional capabilities and have spotted a minor bug.

1. No MIDI channel could be assigned.
This has been fixed. Manual will be updated.

2. When the SynthMuse was clocked by external MIDI, there was no ability to generate 16th notes. ( A major oversight on our part ! )
This capability has been added. We’re just trying to decide how best to present it: should it be as well as the existing speeds or should we throw out the ‘1/6’ speed and replace it with the ‘1/4’. The problem with this is that the front panel graphics would be out of sync with the functions. We’ll come to some arrangement.

3. Minor bug: Occasional stuck notes when triggered by external audio.
Fixed.

Once we’ve checked our software changes, we’ll send out updates for the four existing units shipped and all later units will run with the updated software.

We’ll be in touch with the next group of people on the mailing list to offer the next units.

Best Wishes

HW/SW bugs resolved. Videos uploading

Sincere apologies and thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding while waiting for news.

We’ve been resolving a few final issues and recording some demonstration videos.

6 videos should be up on the SynthMuse youtube channel soon and we would be glad of your comments. Apologies in advance for any focussing issues you see in the uploads.

Now that we have the videos done, we hope that people should have a really good idea of how the SynthiMuse works and decide if they would like to have one.

We have 10 units in their cases ready to go and we will be in touch with those people that have registered an interest to give them first options on the available units.

Once these 10 are sold, another pre-production batch of 15 or 20 will be put together and offered in a similar manner.

So, please be patient, full production batches should be coming in January so please hold tight.

Best Wishes

Gerry Murray

The SynthiMuse Team

First build of 10 nearly done

10 SynthiMuses in a row

Apologies for the lack of updates on the blog but we’ve been busy sourcing components for this build and resolving a number of minor issues.

The first 10 units are almost fully built.
There’s just 110 buttons and 20 MIDI sockets to fit.

After that, it’s :
A 2 day powered bake at 45 degrees centigrade to weed out any failures.
Baking the boards also has the advantage that it evaporates the traces of blood, sweat and tears that went in to the making of the boards.  🙂

There are a few software tweeks to make, then it will be time to mount the units in enclosures, make some final checks and finally, offer them for sale.
We hope/expect that it will be around the 20th of May for sale offering but we have to say that this is an engineer led company. This means that if we find something that we’re not happy about, we don’t have CEO, marketing and sales telling us to ship when it’s not ready. We decide when we feel it’s good to go.
We are grateful for your patience with us.

Case designs on the way!

A mech designer is close to finishing the case design for the first run of 50 SynthiMuses.
So far the units made have been in hand drilled and labelled ‘stock’ enclosures.

The cases will bring the product design nearer to completion.

Stay tuned for images of the case design in the next few days ( I hope! )
